Label-whTHE 1st FAIR TRADE PLASTIC RECYCLING LABEL / The Waste & Hope label is the first « Fair Trade Plastic Recycling Label » in the world. The main objectives are to valorize the resources of unexploited plastic waste, and to share the added value created by this valorization in a fairly way. Our priority is to support sustainable initiatives in developing countries, in the field of plastic waste collection and valorization, and to prevent this plastic from ending up into the Ocean.

CRITERIA OF THIS LABEL  / W&H is an ambitious label with selective criteria,cropped-whlogobis.png inspired by both Fair Trade Charters, International Standards (UN Sustainable Development Goals, ISO 26.000 Standard) and best practices in terms of labeling. The labeling criteria cover the entire value chain :

proplastPROPLAST : AN EXAMPLE OF COLLECTION AND TRANSFORMATION BY A SELF-SUFFICIENT SOCIAL BUSINESS / It will take over 450 years for all the plastic waste to degrade in our oceans. And developing countries are even more at risk. Only 14% of the plastic waste is recycled globally. However, solutions already exist! Proplast, a social enterprise in Senegal avoids 50.000 kg of plastic waste entering the Atlantic Ocean every week! Their objective: to double their collecting capacity to reach 100.000 kg per week by the end of 2018.
